The speakers of the talk were journalist and author Pham Thi Hoai Anh and editor Nguyen Giang Linh, Head of Nha Nam Children's Book Department. The books introduced and discussed included: My Sweet Orange Tree, Pippi Longstocking, Totto-chan at the Window, The Story of the Seagull and the Cat Who Taught Her to Fly, Little Nicolas, The Little Prince, Anne of Green Gables, and Rainbow Troops.
My Sweet Orange Tree is a popular children's book.
In this conversation, Editor Nguyen Giang Linh, founder of the Open Books Club, will discuss the role of books in the childhood lives of children. Editor Giang Linh and journalist Hoai Anh will also discuss issues such as: what makes a book loved by both children and adults?; when children are exposed to books with sad content, with characters in difficult and arduous circumstances, does it have a negative impact on children?; with literary books with ambiguous content (like The Little Prince, which is also very loved by adults), how do readers approach them when they are children?... In addition, the program will also have a part where the best excerpts from two beloved children's novels, My Sweet Orange Tree and Pippi Longstocking, are performed with the participation of professional voices.
