'Oscar of the world tourism industry' gives 4 awards to Ho Chi Minh City

Ho Chi Minh City continues to affirm its position as a dynamic, creative and unique "tourism super city" when it was named in four important categories of the 2025 World Travel Awards (WTA).

On the evening of October 13 in Hong Kong (China), Ho Chi Minh City was once again honored at the World Travel Awards 2025 - an award considered the "Oscar of the world tourism industry". According to the official announcement from WTA, Ho Chi Minh City was awarded four prestigious titles, including:

• Asia's Leading Business Travel Destination 2025 (for the fourth consecutive year);
• Asia's Leading Festival & Event Destination 2025 (Asia's Leading Festival & Event Destination, achieved for 4 consecutive years);
• Asia's Leading City Tourist Board 2025 (Asia's Leading City Tourist Board under Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, has achieved 3 consecutive years);
• Asia's Leading Coastal City Break Destination 2025 (Asia's Leading Coastal City Break Destination in Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam was honored for the first time).

Ho Chi Minh City tourism continuously maintains its leading position in the region.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, being continuously honored at WTA affirms the City's continuous efforts in improving service quality, diversifying tourism products, and developing smart and sustainable tourism.

Vung Tau (now part of Ho Chi Minh City) was honored as "Asia's leading coastal city short-term resort destination"

Speaking about this event, Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism shared: "Continuing to be recognized by the international community at the World Travel Awards 2025 is a great honor, and at the same time a driving force for the city's tourism industry to constantly innovate and create. We aim to make Ho Chi Minh City a leading tourism center in the Asia - Pacific region".

Not only Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam also made a strong impression at the World Travel Awards 2025 with two important titles:

• Asia's Leading Destination 2025 - Asia's Leading Destination (7th time awarded);
• Asia's Leading Heritage Destination 2025 - Asia's Leading Heritage Destination (3rd time winning the award).
