Although it is still more than 3 weeks until the main holiday, the Christmas atmosphere in Ho Chi Minh City is already extremely bustling.

Notre Dame Cathedral is splendid on the evening of December 2.

According to the representative of the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City and Head of the Notre Dame Cathedral Restoration Board, the lighting system has been fully installed and tested in the past two days. The official lighting time is from 6:45 p.m. to 11 p.m. every day. The number of Christmas decorative lights at Notre Dame Cathedral this year has doubled, with new motifs such as globes, stars, bells and LED Christmas trees on the tower.

To welcome Christmas this year, the LED string lights will be lit on Notre Dame Cathedral and its two bell towers from December 1 to January 5, 2026. The aim is to create a warm atmosphere and an attractive highlight. This is the third year the cathedral has been decorated with lights since 2017, using heat-free LED technology for safety and savings.

Mac Ty Nho Church is splendidly decorated to welcome Christmas.

Items such as LED strings, wreaths, baubles and Santa Claus costumes are sold on the sidewalks. Prices this year range from 40,000 VND for small items and 900,000 VND for Christmas trees. According to traders, because the cold weather early stimulates people's demand for decorations, this year's import and sale of goods is much faster than in previous years.
