Vinpearl hotel system delays check-in time to 3:00 p.m.

Vinpearl announced that it will adjust check-in time to 3:00 p.m. from 2026, while most hotels in Vietnam still apply check-in at 2:00 p.m. and check-out at 12:00 p.m.

On December 2, this hotel chain announced an adjustment in check-in time, effective from 2026.

According to the announcement, check-in time will be changed to 3:00 p.m. instead of 2:00 p.m. as present, while check-out time of 12:00 p.m. will remain the same.

The unit said it will apply to all branded hotels, except Vinpearl Luxury Nha Trang. The change is aimed at improving the quality of room service and ensuring a consistent stay experience according to system-wide standards.

This policy applies to new bookings made from 24/12 and with a check-in date from 1/1/2026. Bookings made before 24/12 are not affected.

The above information surprised many tourists because in the world and in Vietnam, most hotels stipulate check-in time from 2 p.m. The 2-hour period from check-out time is the time frame for cleaning and checking the room. The cleaning time for each room ranges from 15-60 minutes depending on the condition.

According to Travel and Leisure , the 2:00 p.m. check-in and 12:00 p.m. check-out time helps hotels optimize operations and create convenience for guests.

The two-hour lunch period is spent cleaning, changing sheets, wiping down surfaces, restocking supplies, and checking the operation of appliances such as televisions, air conditioners, and refrigerators. The bathroom is the area that takes the most time to clean, and is usually the last to be cleaned.

For guests who need to check in early, many hotels support when rooms are available and upon prior request. Some places charge an early check-in fee, about 50% of the room rate for the time of 5-9 am and 30% of the room rate from 9 am to 2 pm.

Similarly, late check-outs are subject to availability the following day. If rooms are available, hotels typically charge 30% of the room rate for check-outs between 1pm and 3pm, 50% of the room rate between 3pm and 6pm, and 100% of the room rate for check-outs after 6pm.

Some notes when checking in and checking out:

  • When booking a room, guests should carefully research information about the hotel and refer to reviews from previous guests.
  • Each hotel has its own regulations regarding check-in and check-out times, so if you need to check in early or check out late, you should discuss in advance to avoid any problems.
  • In case you have checked out but do not need to leave yet, renting a room by the hour is a cost-effective solution if the hotel offers this service, it is often cheaper than late check-out fees.
