The objective of the working delegation's visit and work with VFF representatives is to survey the reality of Vietnamese football, prepare for projects under FIFA's program with global member federations, and concretize a number of cooperation programs in the coming time.
FIFA highly appreciates the development of Vietnamese football
During the meeting, Mr. Theodore Giannikos expressed his attention and appreciation for the strong development of VFF in recent times and its impressive achievements in organizing international tournaments, Asian football qualifiers in 2025, especially the fact that all Vietnamese teams have passed the group stage and will compete in the Asian finals in 2026.
The FIFA representative shared that the purpose of this working trip is to gain a more comprehensive understanding of Vietnamese football, including the field system, training and competition facilities, professional club activities, women's football development, and the general picture of the sports marketing and commercial market in Vietnam. This information will help FIFA assess the potential of the region and serve the process of building related plans in the future.

On behalf of the VFF leadership, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan gave an overview of the development of Vietnamese football in recent years, from the youth training system, professional football, women's football, to domestic tournaments and international achievements. VFF leaders also thanked FIFA for its practical support for Vietnam in recent times, especially in the areas of infrastructure, women's football development programs, and professional support projects.
VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan affirmed that VFF always values the cooperative relationship with FIFA and is ready to accompany in projects to promote the development of regional and world football.
The visit and work of Mr. Theodore Giannikos once again shows FIFA's interest in Vietnamese football, and at the same time opens up new cooperation opportunities in the coming time.
