On the morning of December 3, at the Na Ech village football field (Binh Lieu commune), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh coordinated with the Ethnic Language Television Department - Vietnam Television (VTV5) and the People's Committee of Binh Lieu commune to organize the opening ceremony of the Quang Ninh Province Ethnic Minority Women's Football Tournament 2025 - VTV5 Cup.

The tournament contributes to promoting the sports movement among ethnic minorities.
The tournament is a practical activity to welcome the Party Congresses at all levels, the 16th Quang Ninh Provincial Party Congress, towards the 14th National Party Congress; celebrate the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's Traditional Day (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2025), and at the same time contribute to promoting the sports movement among ethnic minorities.
In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province emphasized: The 2025 Quang Ninh Open Ethnic Minority Women's Football Tournament - VTV5 Cup is not only a sporting activity, but also a solidarity festival, where traditional values are blended with the strong, confident and aspirational spirit of highland women. Ethnic minority women have been attached to fields, mountains and forests for generations, working hard on the fields and skillfully at the loom. Today, those hands and feet continue to shine on the field, carrying the cultural identity and pride of their community.



The tournament attracted a large number of ethnic minorities to watch and 8 football teams from the provinces of Quang Ninh, Lao Cai, and Tuyen Quang.
Through the tournament, the Organizing Committee hopes to continue to promote the sports movement among women, promote gender equality, and raise awareness of all levels, sectors and people about the role of physical exercise and sports. Thereby, mobilizing people to actively exercise to improve health, prevent diseases, build a healthy lifestyle for study, work, production and contribute to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
According to the Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province, this year's tournament brings together 8 teams with 130 athletes from Quang Ninh, Lao Cai and Tuyen Quang provinces. The teams compete in 7-a-side football, divided into 2 groups, with a total of 15 matches taking place in 5 days (from July 3, 2012). The female players are San Chi, Dao Thanh Y, Dao Thanh Phan, San Diu, Tay... and will compete in their traditional costumes, creating a sports space rich in the cultural identity of the highlands.




The Quang Ninh Province Ethnic Minority Women's Football Tournament is expanded to encourage women to confidently participate in community activities, promote gender equality, spread the sports movement among women in the highlands, while honoring the cultural colors of ethnic groups and promoting the tourism image of Binh Lieu.
The Quang Ninh Province Ethnic Minority Women's Football Tournament - VTV5 Cup is a healthy playground, connecting the community; affirming the province's efforts in creating an environment for women, youth and highland people to promote their talents and improve their health; encouraging women to confidently participate in community activities, promoting gender equality, spreading the sports movement among highland women, while honoring the cultural colors of ethnic groups and promoting the image of Binh Lieu tourism.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the opening match took place between Binh Lieu (Quang Ninh) and Hoa An (Tuyen Quang). The match was broadcast live on VTV5 - Vietnam Television.
