(CLO) Discussion sessions on modern art in Indochina were led by Ms. Charlotte Aguttes Reynier, an expert on modern Asian art.
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Indochina College of Fine Arts, on January 7, 2025, at the Nguy Nhu Kon Tum Hall, 19 Le Thanh Tong, Hanoi , an art exhibition and talk "The Revival of Modern Art in Indochina" will take place.
The event, organized by Salmon Company with the support of the French Institute in Hanoi, aims to honor modern Vietnamese art and enrich knowledge about the Indochina School of Fine Arts from 1925-1945.

The exhibition introduces to the public 25 high-quality Giclée prints of famous works by artists such as Le Pho, Mai Trung Thu, Vu Cao Dam...
These works were selected from more than 1,000 works by 70 artists, reflecting the intersection between Western art and Vietnamese fine art during the Indochina period.
In addition to the exhibition, the program also features three art talk sessions, focusing on prominent topics: Memories of the friendship between Jacques Lebas and Victor Tardieu, two people who had great influence in the formation of the Indochina College of Fine Arts; the innovation of modern art in Indochina and traditional Chinese techniques for modern art in Indochina, especially silk painting and the importance of multicultural arteducation .
The discussions will be led by Charlotte Aguttes Reynier, an expert on Asian modern art, who has focused on researching and compiling documents on many aspects of Asian modern art, especially the works of artists Mai Trung Thu, Le Pho and Vu Cao Dam.
Ms. Charlotte Aguttes Reynier is also President of the Association of Asian Artists in Paris (AAP), author of the book Modern Art of Indochina (L'Art Moderne En Indochine).
Also participating in the art talk sessions are descendants of artists who played an important role in the innovation of modern Vietnamese art in the early 20th century, along with some prominent figures in the art world today.
