Leaders of the Department of Health presented gifts to social protection beneficiaries being cared for at the Social Work Center and the Provincial Children's Protection Fund.
On July 30, 1998, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly passed the Ordinance on Persons with Disabilities and designated April 18 of each year as the Day for Protection and Care of Persons with Disabilities in Vietnam. In 2010, the Law on Persons with Disabilities was passed by the National Assembly and took effect from January 1, 2011, stipulating that April 18 of each year is the Day for Persons with Disabilities in Vietnam, in order to show concern and care for persons with disabilities, ensure their rights, and improve the quality of life so that persons with disabilities can integrate better into the community.
The Provincial Social Work Center and Children's Support Fund currently care for and nurture nearly 150 people with disabilities. Over the years, the State's policies and the spiritual and material care and support of organizations, individuals and philanthropists have always been fully and promptly implemented by the center. Thereby, expressing love, sharing and caring for the less fortunate, encouraging and motivating people with disabilities to constantly strive in life.
At the program, the collective of the Social Work Center and the Provincial Children's Fund expressed their feelings and sent love to the disabled. They hoped that the disabled would continue to receive the attention and sharing of the community, helping them overcome their circumstances and integrate better.
On this occasion, leaders of the Department of Health and a number of groups and businesses presented gifts to social protection beneficiaries being cared for at the Social Work Center and the Provincial Children's Protection Fund.
