Central Youth Union launches English Olympic Competition for young cadres 2025

The 7th English Olympic Competition for young cadres was organized to concretize the action program to implement the Resolution of the 12th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, term 2022 - 2027; Resolution of the 9th Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union, term 2024 - 2029; and to deploy the Program to support the improvement of foreign language proficiency and international integration for Vietnamese youth in the period 2022 - 2030.

This year's contest focuses on promoting and encouraging young people in disadvantaged and mountainous areas, and cadres working in combat units and direct production of enterprises to participate. Contestants are young cadres; young civil servants and public employees; young people in the business sector; young people in the armed forces; and local youth.

The main content of the Contest focuses on English knowledge, including listening, reading, vocabulary, English communication questions at different levels, depending on each exam board and specialized English knowledge for each target group.

The main content is knowledge about Vietnamese youth organizations; Volunteer Youth Year, Summer Volunteer Youth Campaign; Youth Law, Youth Development Strategy for the period 2021 - 2030; Documents of the 12th National Congress of the Youth Union, term 2022 - 2027; Documents of the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Student Association , term 2023 - 2028; Documents of the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union, term 2024 - 2029.

The contest also requires knowledge about important events in the country's history; about key leaders of the Party and State; typical senior leaders of the Party and State, focusing on events with round and even year anniversaries in 2025.

Knowledge of updated economic, political , cultural, social and historical situations of Vietnam and the world; diplomatic relations between Vietnam and other countries in the world, international organizations of which Vietnam is a member.

During the Competition Rounds, the Organizing Committee will integrate propaganda about learning, practicing foreign languages ​​and proper foreign language learning methods, proactively improving foreign language skills and international integration for young people. Coordinate with prestigious organizations and units to develop effective, scientific, and accessible foreign language learning tools; organize playgrounds to promote confidence and proactive foreign language practice among young union members.

The prize structure of the contest includes: 06 prizes for 06 contestants who directly respond to the opening ceremony with the best results (02 contestants/group) through rounds 1, 2, 3. In which, the prize for round 3 (National Final) includes: 01 First prize team worth 15,000,000 VND; 01 Second prize team worth 9,000,000 VND; 01 Third prize team worth 6,000,000 VND; 02 Encouragement prize teams worth 3,000,000 VND and commemorative medals, gifts, certificates of merit from the Central Youth Union and English scholarships. In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded the most favorite team worth 1,000,000 VND and commemorative medals.

The opening ceremony of the contest will be held on May 16, 2025 in Hanoi. Currently, the Organizing Committee has opened the trial test portal for candidates to register (Note: the content and results of the trial test will not be counted in the results of round 1).
