Hanoi University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, appoints 2 new Vice Presidents and many managers

The University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) is gradually striving to become a research university in a multidisciplinary and multi-field university center, belonging to the group of advanced universities in the region and the world, contributing to the cause of people's health care and the development of the country's knowledge economy.

Permanent Deputy Director of Hanoi National University Nguyen Hieu presented the appointment decision to two Vice Principals of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Hanoi National University).

The University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) has just celebrated the 70th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 - February 27, 2025) and announced and awarded decisions to establish affiliated and subordinate units; and appointed leadership and management positions.

Speaking at the ceremony, President of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) Le Ngoc Thanh shared: The event celebrating the 70th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day and the 15th anniversary of the establishment and development of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy marks an important step in development, perfecting the organizational structure of the school; ensuring a lean, compact, and strong organization, is the time for the school to make solid steps, continuing to affirm the position of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in theeducation system and the health sector.

On this occasion, all staff of the school looked back on the journey, expressed gratitude to the senior doctors who laid the foundation for Vietnamese healthcare . At the same time, looking to the future, we will continue to build a strong healthcare system, train high-quality healthcare human resources, meet all challenges and bring health to the people.

At the ceremony, Permanent Vice President of Hanoi National University Nguyen Hieu presented the decision to appoint Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duy Anh, Director of the Central Obstetrics Hospital, and Vice Rector of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy; and to appoint Associate Professor, Dr. Dinh Doan Long, former Chairman of the Council of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, to hold the position of Vice Rector of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

Also at the ceremony, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) announced the decisions to establish new affiliated and subordinate units, including: Faculty of Basic Medicine and Pharmacy; Faculty of Public Health; Institute of International Research and Training; University Medical Center and the departments of Nephrology, Urology, and Cardiology under the Faculty of Medicine.

At the same time, the President of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Le Ngoc Thanh, also appointed Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tuan Tung, Deputy Director of Bach Mai Hospital, to hold the position of Head of the Faculty of Basic Medicine and Pharmacy, and Head of the Department of Histology - Embryology and Hematology of the school.

Appointing Professor, Dr. Tran Xuan Bach, Deputy Head of the Department of Community Medicine and Preventive Medicine to hold the position of Head of the Faculty of Public Health, Director of the Institute of International Research and Training.

Appoint Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Viet Nhung (former Director of the Central Lung Hospital) as Director of the University Medical Center, concurrently Head of the Faculty of Medicine.

Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Vice President of Hanoi National University Nguyen Hieu sent his best wishes to the doctors and nurses who have been and are working in the medical sector. At the same time, he congratulated the teachers and staff of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy who were appointed to new leadership and management positions in the school's affiliated units.

Currently, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) has five affiliated faculties, including the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Faculty of Dentistry, the Faculty of Public Health, the Faculty of Basic Medicine and Pharmacy; four affiliated units including: the Center for Training according to social needs and the University Medical Center; the Institute of International Research and Training and the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital with a staff of 344 full-time and part-time lecturers, of which the proportion of professors and associate professors accounts for 24.5%; PhDs account for 35.2%; the rest are lecturers, resource researchers with master's degrees, and resident physicians.
