Hanoi University is in the process of revoking Mr. Vuong Tan Viet's university degree.

This morning, October 22, a representative of Hanoi University said that Hanoi University is carrying out procedures to revoke the bachelor's degree in English from the distance learning program granted to Mr. Vuong Tan Viet.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, Hanoi Law University and Hanoi University must revoke the degrees granted to Mr. Vuong Tan Viet according to the provisions of the law.

Previously, Hanoi University informed that Mr. Vuong Tan Viet, now Venerable Thich Chan Quang, studied English language at the University of Foreign Languages ​​(now Hanoi University) from August 1994 to December 2000. The university diploma was granted to Mr. Vuong Tan Viet in early 2001.

Mr. Vuong Tan Viet used an illegal high school diploma.

Speaking with Thanh Nien Newspaper, a representative of the Ministry of Education and Training also said that Mr. Vuong Tan Viet also admitted that he used his high school diploma illegally and voluntarily handed over the diplomas for handling according to regulations.

Meanwhile, Hanoi Law University has not yet made any official announcement regarding the handling of the doctoral degree that the school granted to Mr. Vuong Tan Viet. When Thanh Nien Newspaper reporters contacted by phone, Associate Professor Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Head of the Postgraduate Training Department, Hanoi Law University, who was assigned by Hanoi Law University to speak about the incident related to Mr. Vuong Tan Viet, asked the reporter to bring a letter of introduction to the school before providing information.

As reported by Thanh Nien Newspaper, on October 21, the Ministry of Education and Training announced to the media the results of the verification of Mr. Vuong Tan Viet's degree. Accordingly, Mr. Vuong Tan Viet used an illegal high school diploma. The Ministry of Education and Training has directed Hanoi Law University and Hanoi University to urgently revoke the diplomas granted to Mr. Vuong Tan Viet in accordance with the law.
