This morning, July 23, Hanoi University announced the threshold for ensuring input quality (floor score), how to calculate scores according to the combined method and the conversion table for equivalent admission scores between methods.
According to the standard score calculation formula provided by the school, each candidate can easily calculate their own score without using a calculator or complicated lookups.

In 2025, Hanoi University will recruit 3 combinations/groups of combinations, including: group D combinations of 3 subjects: math, literature, foreign language (foreign language includes English, French, Chinese, German, Japanese, Korean); A01 (math, physics, English), TH01 (math, computer science, English). The minimum score to receive applications for all 3 combinations/groups of combinations is 22/40 points.
The school recruits students based on two methods (excluding direct recruitment and priority recruitment according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training): based on high school graduation exam scores and combined recruitment.
With combined consideration, the factors that make up the admission score are the average score, incentive points, and priority points (if any). In which, the average score is the total score of the 6 semester 3 report cards for math, literature, and foreign language (foreign language score multiplied by a factor of 2).
Encouragement points are bonus points from level 1 to 4 corresponding to the conditions that the candidate meets (international language certificate, SAT score, provincial excellent student award, etc.). Priority points are regional and subject points according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
In response to the request of the Ministry of Education and Training to convert the benchmark scores to equivalent so that when determining the benchmark scores, it is considered by industry, regardless of the method, Hanoi University has proposed a formula for calculating scores with a combined method as follows:
Total combined admission score after conversion = (average score - 4) + incentive points + priority points (if any). Total admission score after conversion does not exceed the maximum score (40 points).
Applying the above formula, candidates can calculate their score equivalent to the admission score of the method based on high school graduation exam results.
