According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, a cold air mass is currently moving south from the North.

It is forecasted that around the morning of October 19, cold air will affect the Northeast region. From October 20-22, cold air will strengthen and affect other places in the Northeast and North Central regions, and some places in the Northwest and North Central regions.

Due to the influence of cold air, in the Northeast region there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms. Inland, the wind will change to the Northeast at level 2-3, and in coastal areas at level 3-4.

From the evening and night of October 19, the weather in the North will turn cool. From the night of October 20, the night and morning will be cold, and the mountainous areas will be chilly. The lowest temperature during this cold spell in the Northern Delta is generally 19-21 degrees Celsius, in the mountainous and midland areas 17-19 degrees Celsius, and in the highlands, some places will be below 16 degrees Celsius.

Hanoi area has rain, scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places. From the night of October 19, the weather will turn cooler. From the night of October 20, the night and morning will be cold. The lowest temperature in this cold air mass is commonly 19-21 degrees Celsius.

At sea from October 19, the North East Sea area will have strong northeast winds of level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough seas, especially in the Eastern sea area, winds will gradually increase to level 6-7; near the storm center, strong winds of level 8, gusting to level 10, waves 2.5-4.5m high, rough seas.

From the evening and night of October 19, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the Northeast wind will gradually increase to level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough seas, waves 1.5-2.5m high. Due to the influence of cold air, from the evening and night of October 19, in the North and Central Central regions, there will be rain, moderate rain and thunderstorms, especially in the South, there will be some places with heavy rain. The cold weather at night and morning can affect health.

Thunderstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind can affect agricultural production, cause trees to fall, damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure.

Heavy rain can cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods in small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes; heavy rain in a short period of time can cause flooding in urban areas and industrial zones.

Strong winds and gusts, large waves at sea are likely to affect boating and other activities.
