Foreign Trade University has a new Principal

On July 2, Foreign Trade University (FTU) held a ceremony to announce the Decision of the Minister of Education and Training (MOET) on recognizing Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thu Huong as Rector of FTU for the 2020-2025 term, starting from July 1, 2025.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son, on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Training, sent his congratulations to Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thu Huong - the new Principal of the school. Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son affirmed: “ The Ministry of Education and Training has high expectations and trust in the new Principal - a person who grew up in this school, has a solid professional foundation, has been trained domestically and internationally, has rich practical experience and a strong spirit of innovation. I believe that Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thu Huong will continue to inherit the core values of the school, promote the existing achievements, and together with the leadership team and all lecturers and students, build the Foreign Trade University to a new level - solid in expertise, innovative in thinking, and integrated in vision”.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son presented the decision to recognize the position of Rector of Foreign Trade University to Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thu Huong.

Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son also requested that Foreign Trade University continue to implement many synchronous and breakthrough solutions to maintain and consolidate its position as a leading university, gradually achieving regional and international standards of higher education. Strongly develop a modern university governance model, taking university autonomy as a driving force; improve training quality in line with practice, market demand, sustainable development orientation, promote interdisciplinary program innovation, integrate digital skills, global skills and social responsibility; build and develop a team of highly qualified lecturers and scientists with rich academic qualifications; promote strategic international cooperation, thereby increasing competitiveness, creating academic attraction and effective knowledge transfer.

Speaking at the ceremony, the new President of Foreign Trade University pledged to run the organization according to the principle of “stability and efficiency”, promote democracy, strengthen internal solidarity, ensure close and effective coordination in the leadership and direction of the Party Committee, the University Council and the Board of Directors, gradually forming a culture of “frankness, sharing and companionship” in implementing the development strategy, while closely following the motto of “being different to lead” to promote the culture of “innovation”.
