The Department of Education and Training of Hoc Mon district (HCMC) has just issued a plan to organize a survey to assess the capacity of 6th grade students entering Nguyen An Khuong Secondary School in the 2025-2026 school year with 280 targets on May 30.
Students will take the 90-minute survey, which consists of two parts:
Multiple choice section: Time limit: 30 minutes. Students answer 20 multiple choice questions in English about understanding natural sciences, social sciences and common sense.
Essay section: Time to complete the test is 60 minutes. In which, the English proficiency test includes listening-comprehension, reading-comprehension, and writing skills.
- Candidates take the test in English for 20 minutes.
- Mathematical ability and logical thinking test: candidates take the test in Vietnamese, test time 20 minutes;
- Reading and writing skills test: candidates take the test in Vietnamese, time limit 20 minutes.
The Hoc Mon District Department of Education and Training requires parents to register for the survey at the primary school admissions website https://tuyensinhdaucap.hcm.edu.vn from May 24 to 4:00 p.m. on May 27.
The conditions for participating in the survey are that students have completed primary school in Hoc Mon district and students have completed primary school elsewhere and are currently residing in Hoc Mon district. They must have a score of 9 or higher on the final exam of the 2nd semester of grade 5 in Vietnamese and math.
According to the regulations of the Hoc Mon District Admissions Council, admitted students must complete the 6th grade entrance exam in accordance with regulations, with no part of the exam receiving a score of 0.
The admission score is the total score of the 6th grade entrance exam. Based on the results of the exam, the admissions board will consider from high to low until the quota is met and according to criteria suitable for the school model.
In case students have the same score, the council will consider in order of priority: Students with English certificates from high to low level; Math and Vietnamese scores at the end of semester 2 of grade 5.
In the 2024-2025 school year, Nguyen An Khuong Secondary School is the only school in Hoc Mon district to enroll 6th graders by survey with a target of 245 students, a competition ratio of 1/2.94.
