School speaks out about female students being edited into nude photos

On April 16, the leader of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Nha Trang City, said: The school has issued a press release regarding the handling of a student who edited nude photos of female classmates and posted them on social media.

Accordingly, on the evening of April 13, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted received information from the homeroom teacher about a case of a male student using images of female students in the school to post on social networks.

On the morning of April 14, the school directed the homeroom teacher to coordinate and invite the student to the school psychology counseling room to write a report. At 10:00 a.m. the same day, the Board of Directors and the Secretary of the Youth Union of the school directly worked with the student to obtain more information and verify the incident.

Through discussion, the student admitted to collecting many personal photos of female students in the school, then editing, cropping, creating inappropriate, substandard images and posting them on social media platforms. In response to the above incident, the school requested the student to immediately remove the posted images and close all related social media accounts. At the same time, the school reported the incident to the authorities to coordinate handling and support in preventing the spread of false and negative information.

It is expected that today, the school will hold a meeting with the female students involved and their parents to share, encourage and grasp their thoughts and aspirations. In addition, the school will also invite the parents of the male student who violated the law to work, and at the same time send an apology to the female students and their families.

Regarding the violations of male students, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted will base on current regulations to apply appropriate disciplinary measures, ensuring deterrence andeducation in the school environment.
