Return to Truong Son - The sacred land of fire
Through artistic performances combined with commentary, reports, and live exchanges, the program Truong Son - Barefoot with Steel Spirit recreated the glorious milestones of our nation's heroic history in the resistance war against the US; the resilient, indomitable, and loyal spirit of our army and people during 16 consecutive years of facing an extremely fierce war with many sacrifices and losses of the forces on the Truong Son route.
With 3 chapters, Truong Son - Barefoot with Steel Will shows throughout the heroic historical process of the birth of the legendary Truong Son road during the resistance war against America, the continued development of Ho Chi Minh road today.
The program includes three chapters: Chapter 1: Where the legend begins is the story of the early period, the first steps "crossing the high Truong Son mountain range "The rocks wear away but the heels do not", "Following the fire from your heart". The main method of transportation during this period was carried by human backpacks, and absolute secrecy was required according to the requirement "traveling without traces, cooking without smoke, speaking without sound". In the midst of such difficulties, the Vietnamese people wrote miracles about people with "bronze feet, iron shoulders" carrying goods or "golden liver, jade heart" drivers who dared to rush into danger to open the way with blood for the Fatherland.
Chapter 2: Miracle in the deep forest: From the first cargo shipment on August 20, 1959, along with the urgent request from the Southern battlefield, we opened many routes from East to West in Laos and Cambodia. From there, legends and miracles about oil pipelines, secret roads, mobile bridges were written, as the Americans themselves later admitted: "it is impossible to cut off this road, if you cut any road, another road will grow".
Chapter 3: Continuing the epic: Surpassing all conventional meanings, the Ho Chi Minh trail fulfilled its historical significance, contributing especially significantly to the victory of the resistance war against the US to save the country. Years have passed, but the decision to open the Truong Son trail was a historic decision of strategic significance by the Party, leaving many valuable lessons for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland today.
Special reports
One of the important highlights of the special program to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Trail is 9 short reports meticulously produced with important historical witnesses. Through the stories of living witnesses, those who directly participated in opening and being attached to the legendary Truong Son Trail are recreated more clearly than ever. And thanks to that, today's young generation is even more impressed with the will, spirit and perseverance of the soldiers who fell on this road to contribute to the victory over the American invaders.
One of them is the reportage Legend within legend. As Lieutenant General Dong Si Nguyen commented: "If the Ho Chi Minh trail is a legend, the oil pipeline is a legend within a legend". This reportage tells the story of the oil pipeline: 1,400 km of oil pipeline from Quang Binh through Truong Son to Binh Phuoc province. It tells the story of the early days of carrying gasoline and many sacrifices, the oil pipeline was designed with bamboo. Many historical milestones and important figures in the creation of the oil pipeline will also be mentioned in this special reportage.

Colonel, People's Armed Forces Hero Nguyen Viet Sinh said he himself "didn't understand" and "didn't expect" this achievement. In the reportage, he recalled that from 1961 to 1965, he carried goods without a single day off with the spirit of "1 bullet is 1 enemy, 1 kilo of goods is less bloodshed for the people of the South". This is also the slogan written on his hat.
Also in the program was a reportage about the generation of Truong Son soldiers today. If the previous generation sacrificed their blood and bones on the legendary Ho Chi Minh trail to liberate the South and unify the country, then the generation of Truong Son soldiers today is also day and night building the country to develop. They are contributing to the country's economic development through key projects, changing many areas, especially in the Central Highlands, where the Ho Chi Minh trail played an important role in liberating the South, now changed thanks to the Truong Son soldiers.
