After losing to Phuc Huynh in the final of the PPA Asia Tour in Da Nang , Truong Vinh Hien let go of all the pressure and thoughts and immediately headed to Quy Nhon. He and his senior Minh Quan won the amateur tournament by beating many strong Vietnamese pairs, to erase the sadness of the past.

On the morning of October 6, Truong Vinh Hien was present at the Ky Hoa pickleball court cluster in time to attend the opening ceremony of the Sypik Picklell Charity Cup charity event on the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival 2025. He shared his private thoughts with Tuoi Tre Online about the drama that happened to his senior Ly Hoang Nam.

Vinh Hien recalled: "That match is over and the PPA Asia tournament has ended. That was the first time I faced great pressure, but I'm also happy that I overcame it.

That will be the motivation for me to continue to strive to conquer new milestones in the future and an experience for me to grow up.

Honestly, in the final match against Phuc Huynh, I couldn't concentrate. My thoughts kept drifting somewhere else so I lost to him quickly.

After the match, I felt that if I had another chance, another match, I could have done better. It wasn't so difficult anymore."

Talking about his senior Ly Hoang Nam in the semi-final match, Truong Vinh Hien said: "It's true that we are brothers so we had an argument like that, but if it was a stranger, I wouldn't have explained. Ly Hoang Nam and I made up, practiced together and still practiced normally as if nothing had happened. I lost sleep and thought about it for many nights, now when I go out on the field, I only have one goal: to contribute."

Truong Vinh Hien has improved through each tournament from Hong Kong Open (4th place), Vietnam Open (3rd place) and now runner-up of PPA Asia Tour - Vietnam Cup. He pointed out his strengths and weaknesses:

"Since the beginning of the year, I have not practiced singles because there are few tournaments in Vietnam that have that content. I have started practicing again. I have started to improve my movement skills and net and baseline tactics. I plan to go to Australia for 3 weeks to participate in the PPA Tour and practice with strong players there.

My goal is to be in the top 20 of the PPA USA singles. Next year, I want to go to the US to train and participate in some tournaments to gain experience. Besides, there will be opportunities to practice and compete with many athletes with diverse and different techniques. That will help me change and adapt my playing style."

Memories of facing Ben Johns in Malaysia Cup 2025 :

"That was the first time Minh Quan and I faced Ben Johns (and Eric Ocins). I was stiff and shaken. Then in game 2, we got into the rhythm and won again. Game 3 was close when we led 8-7 and served but couldn't win. Ben Johns played very solidly, with few mistakes."
