Many major newspapers in Mexico on April 29 (local time, April 30 Vietnam time) simultaneously published bold information about Vietnam's historic victory in the long resistance war for independence and national unification, as well as its journey to become one of the countries with great potential and position in the international arena.

According to the VNA correspondent in Mexico, with the title “Vietnam after 50 years of reunification: The era of national rise,” Voces Del Periodista - an academic forum and voice of Mexican journalists, clearly stated that the image of the revolutionary flag flying on the roof of the Independence Palace not only ended more than a century of being immersed in wars, but also opened a new era for Vietnam: the era of peace , reunification and the journey to socialism.

Voces Del Periodista affirms that the victory of April 30, 1975 was not only the victory of the Vietnamese people, but has become the most brilliant symbol of bravery, indomitable will and aspiration for freedom for the global progressive movement, as well as peace-loving peoples around the world .

Referring to the journey of reconstruction and development, Voces Del Periodista - a forum of 45,000 professional journalists in Mexico - said that 50 years since reunification, nearly 40 years of implementing the Doi Moi process, Vietnam today has entered a new stage of development - the era of national aspirations to reach the world.

Specifically, from a poor, war-torn country, Vietnam has risen to become the region's leading dynamic developing economy , with a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of more than 476 billion USD by 2024, ranking 33rd in the world and in the Top 20 leading countries in trade and foreign investment attraction.

Not only is Vietnam outstanding in economic growth, it has also affirmed its position as a responsible, peaceful and internationally integrated country. Currently, Vietnam has established diplomatic relations with 194 countries, strategic or comprehensive partnerships with 30 countries - including all major countries and 5 permanent members of the United Nations Security Council.

On the international stage, Vietnam is seen as a fulcrum of stability and sustainable development. The contributions of UN peacekeeping officers, initiatives on climate change, food security, health security, etc. are all highly appreciated by international friends.

Vietnam is currently one of the leading countries in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and has a strong commitment to achieving net zero emissions by 2050.

Meanwhile, the Regeneración newspaper - the political media channel of the ruling National Reconstruction Movement (Morena) Party in Mexico - said that April 30 has become a major holiday for the Vietnamese people because it carries within it the sacred meaning of peace, solidarity and national pride.

With the headline “Vietnam: 50 years of historic victory,” Regeneración newspaper stated that for millions of people who participated in the anti-war movement around the world, this was not just a military victory - but "the victory of all victories," a symbolic victory that inspired a whole generation to fight for justice and for the right to national self-determination across five continents.

According to author Pedro Gellert, Vietnam's victory affirmed two great truths: First, imperialism can be completely defeated. Second, international solidarity can become a decisive force in changing the destiny of an entire nation. The Communist Party of Vietnam itself and President Ho Chi Minh - the great leader of the nation - always considered international solidarity as an important spiritual pillar in the long march for independence.

Evaluating the Doi Moi process initiated by the 6th National Party Congress in 1986, author Pedro Gellert affirmed that this was an important milestone, a decisive historical turning point for the country's development process because this event reflected a profound awareness: there is no fixed model for all countries, all times.

Specifically, according to the author, in Vietnam, Doi Moi paved the way for a harmonious combination between a market economy and a socialist orientation - where the private sector is developed but the State still plays a leading role, with the goal of building a fair, civilized and compassionate society.

Referring to the road ahead, the veteran journalist affirmed that Vietnam today is a country of peace, stability and development - where a glorious past is the fulcrum for a promising future.

With the goal of becoming a developed, high-income industrial country by 2045 - the 100th anniversary of the country's founding, Vietnam is continuing to write glorious history with intelligence, solidarity and patriotism./.
