Vietnamese in ancient tradition and present reality

The Vietnamese language has long been a source of national pride, reflected in folk songs, proverbs and folk literature. In the old tradition, writing was not only a means of transmitting information but also an expression of culture and human character.

Writing beautifully, with correct spelling and clarity not only makes the text easy to read and understand, but also creates sympathy for the reader. Beautiful handwriting also contributes to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values.

In reality, with the strong development of technology, writing and communication have changed a lot. Computers, smartphones and messaging applications have gradually replaced pen and paper. However, handwriting still brings undeniable benefits.

Writing by hand helps us remember better and understand more deeply the content we write. Moreover, handwriting also shows respect and dedication to the recipient.

Even in the digital age, preserving and promoting the beauty of Vietnamese through handwriting is still necessary. This is a way for us to not only preserve but also transmit cultural values to future generations.

The importance of practicing beautiful handwriting for primary school students

Practicing beautiful handwriting in primary school students plays an important role in the comprehensive development of children. When children go to school, they learn to read and write, and writing fluently not only helps children absorb lessons faster but also improves the quality of learning.

The late Prime Minister Pham Van Dong once emphasized that handwriting reflects a person’s character. Teaching students to write correctly, carefully, and beautifully is to train them to be careful and have self-respect. This is not only for themselves but also for their teachers and friends.

Practicing handwriting in primary school helps children cultivate good qualities such as carefulness, discipline and aesthetic sense.

Teaching writing from grade 1 is coordinated smoothly with other subjects such as spelling, dictation, and writing. Students learn how to write in beautiful handwriting practice books, grasp basic knowledge about the structure of Vietnamese letters through the board, and in their notebooks.

Practicing beautiful handwriting for primary school students not only helps them write correctly and beautifully, but also contributes to forming their personality and careful and meticulous attitude in work. All of these factors are important foundations to help them develop comprehensively.

Handwriting practice is applied in medicine and supports the treatment of some diseases.

“A study by University College London of nearly 50,000 people found positive effects of practicing calligraphy. Up to 76% of participants confirmed that when they focused on practicing their handwriting, they felt less anxious and had less wandering thoughts.

69% of study participants shared that they wanted a special hobby to make them feel more confident, and more than 50% used calligraphy as a tool to calm their mind.

Professor Daisy Fancourt, who led the calligraphy research at University College London, said: “This is the first study to show the cognitive effects that calligraphy can have on the brain, helping to regulate our emotional state when we engage in creative activities.”

Some hospitals in Taiwan have also incorporated calligraphy into their psychotherapy activities to help patients with mental health problems. Calligraphy helps the brain function better, reducing depression and mental disorders.”

Some benefits of practicing beautiful handwriting from an early age

- Practicing beautiful handwriting is an effective method to help children develop their pen-holding skills, control their hand strength and precise manipulation. When children practice writing, their hand and finger muscles are trained to perform small and precise movements, while maintaining appropriate pressure to create even and clear strokes. A handwriting tutor can guide children on how to hold a pen correctly from the very first steps, thereby helping them avoid bad pen-holding habits.

- Calligraphy requires attention to small details, such as the length and curvature of each stroke. When children focus on writing each letter beautifully and evenly, they naturally develop the ability to concentrate. This not only makes them more patient, but also teaches them discipline, as they have to focus on one task for a long period of time. This ability will come in handy when children learn other subjects that require attention and hard work to achieve good results.

- The process of practicing writing also helps children remember letters and strengthens their memory skills. When writing, children need to remember the exact shape of each letter, their position and size. This helps children develop their memory and improve their ability to quickly recognize letters. In addition, practicing writing words and sentences also encourages children to think about semantics, letter arrangement, and the relationship between words, thereby forming logical thinking and the ability to organize information more effectively.

- When children can write clearly and beautifully, they will feel more proud and confident when completing their assignments and presenting in front of the class. Beautiful handwriting not only creates a good impression on teachers and friends but also helps children feel more interested in learning.

In addition, good handwriting helps children take notes more effectively, thereby making it easier to remember lessons. When children have good writing skills, they can organize and arrange ideas more clearly and coherently, which is especially important for subjects that require detailed note-taking such as Literature, History, and Geography.

The ability to take notes effectively helps children consolidate knowledge, prepare better for exams and achieve better results in their studies. As a result, children will be motivated to continue developing their writing skills and study confidently./.
