International media praises Vietnam's message of building a peaceful future together

On April 30, major media agencies around the world, along with many electronic news sites from countries such as China's South China Morning Post, Singapore's channelnewsasia.com, and Australia's abc.net.au simultaneously published many articles and outstanding images about the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day in Ho Chi Minh City.

International media outlets solemnly published images of the large-scale parade, with the participation of a large number of people, along with articles praising Vietnam's message of wanting to work with the international community to build a future of peace , prosperity, solidarity, and development.

The Associated Press (AP) reported that Vietnam marked the 50th anniversary of the end of the war with the United States and the birth of a modern unified nation with a military parade, in which the focus was on a peaceful future. AP quoted the speech of the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam at the celebration, emphasizing: "With the policy of closing the past, respecting differences... let us do everything we can today, with the desire to leave to future generations not only a better world, but also faith and admiration for the sense of responsibility and wisdom of today's generation."

Meanwhile, the French news agency AFP published an article describing how thousands of people poured into the central streets of Ho Chi Minh City the night before to witness the parade celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification. Leading the parade was a model car bearing the national emblem of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, followed by a car carrying the portrait of President Ho Chi Minh - the leader who led the Vietnamese people to independence and national reunification. In the sky, fighter jets and helicopters carrying the national flag flew by, creating a solemn and heroic scene.

Both AP and AFP noted Vietnam’s message of working with the international community to build a peaceful future. The articles said that while the Vietnamese people are proud of their past, they also believe in the nation’s prosperous and rising future.

In an article titled "Triumph of justice over tyranny", Reuters news agency (UK) described the proud and emotional atmosphere in Ho Chi Minh City during the national celebration.

Most articles mention April 30, 1975 as an important milestone, marking the end of a two-decade war, opening a new era in the nation's history.

The articles also mentioned the speech of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam at the celebration ceremony, affirming that "the victory of our people in the resistance war against the US to save the country will forever be recorded in the history of the nation as a shining symbol of revolutionary heroism, a victory of justice, a victory of Vietnamese mettle, spirit and intelligence; of ardent patriotism, aspiration for independence, freedom and national unification", while emphasizing the immortal truth: "Vietnam is one, the Vietnamese people are one".

Meanwhile, in Times Square in New York, the entire electronic board outside the Nasdaq Stock Exchange - the second largest stock exchange in the US, after the New York Stock Exchange, posted an image of the Vietnamese flag with the words "Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Vietnam's reunification".
