From December 1st, buying airline tickets and security checks will be done using VNeid and biometrics.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed Directive No. 24 on promoting the deployment of technological solutions to serve people and businesses associated with population data, electronic identification and authentication.

According to the directive, from December 1, at airports, direct check-in at the counter will only apply to passengers with checked baggage and special passenger cases.

“ All passengers not included in the above list must complete the entire procedure (buy tickets, check-in, security check, boarding) through a biometric technology solution combined with VNeID electronic identification and authentication or at the self-service kiosk system at the airport ,” the Prime Minister ’s directive stated.

In addition, the Prime Minister requested that from September 15 to November 30, the Ministry of Finance coordinate with airlines to proactively research and implement practical incentive policies to encourage passengers to buy tickets and use biometric solutions associated with VNeID electronic identification and authentication when performing aviation procedures.

The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Public Security to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Finance, and People's Committees of provinces and cities to deploy biometric technology on the VNeID electronic identification and authentication system, implementing the entire process at 100% of airports nationwide, to be completed in October 2025.

At the urban railway station, Hanoi station and parking lots in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, to be completed in 2025.

The Prime Minister also requested the Ministry of Public Security to take the lead in building traffic utilities on the VNeID electronic identification and authentication system in the direction of connecting existing traffic applications.

At the same time, overcome the fragmentation in the digital infrastructure of the transport sector, ensuring convenience and safety for people using the entire service, to be completed in October 2025.

Preside over and guide the implementation of biometric technology integration on the VNeID electronic identification and authentication system, the national population database with information systems of organizations and enterprises.

Thereby ensuring information security and safety, preventing counterfeiting and fraud, effectively serving state management and promoting socio-economic development, to be completed in October 2025.

The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Finance to urge and direct its affiliated units to coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security to deploy the integration of biometric technology on the VNeID electronic identification and authentication system into traffic-related professional systems before September 15.
