Van Thang Agarwood Cooperative held the 2nd General Meeting of Members

On September 23, Van Thang Agarwood Cooperative held the 2nd Congress of members, term 2025 - 2030.

The leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded the certificate of Khanh Hoa Agarwood Exploitation and Processing Knowledge included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to Van Thang Agarwood Cooperative.

Van Thang Agarwood Cooperative was established on December 15, 2020 with the goal of promoting the value of agarwood craft villages, creating jobs for members and developing OCOP products. However, by the end of August 2025, the cooperative had not yet implemented substantial production and business activities, specifically: The registered charter capital had not been fully contributed by members, leading to a lack of resources; a stable system of production, processing and product consumption had not yet been formed; revenue, profit and funds had not yet been generated; and support policies from the State had not yet been accessed. The cooperative only maintained its legal status, operating at a moderate level, and had not yet achieved efficiency.

The 2nd Congress of Van Thang Agarwood Cooperative to comprehensively restructure the cooperative is a turning point in the transition from manual production to modern business, preserving the cultural identity of the craft village, and at the same time expanding the consumer market.

The Board of Directors and Supervisory Board of Van Thang Agarwood Cooperative for the new term were introduced to the congress.

In the 2025 - 2030 term, Van Thang Agarwood Cooperative aims to standardize production and processing, apply standard procedures for agarwood incense, agarwood cones, bracelets and other deeply processed products from agarwood; expand the market, build a multi-channel distribution system, develop e-commerce, bring the Van Thang Agarwood brand associated with the geographical indication of Khanh Hoa agarwood; develop community tourism , form the tour "A day as an agarwood artisan", combining tea and coffee tasting, agarwood burning services and health care.

In addition, Van Thang Agarwood Cooperative will innovate its governance, strengthen its board of directors, and increase the application of digital technology in management, marketing, and traceability. During its term, the cooperative strives for an annual revenue of 10-15 billion VND; at least 7 OCOP products meeting 3-4 star standards, 1 product meeting 5-star OCOP standards; and members' income will double compared to 2025. The Congress elected the Board of Directors and Supervisory Board of Van Thang Agarwood Cooperative for a new term with 6 members.

On this occasion, Van Thang Agarwood Cooperative received the certificate of Khanh Hoa Agarwood Exploitation and Processing Knowledge being included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage.
