During the inspections, Comrade Trinh Minh Hoang requested that the management units and the Department of Agriculture and Environment conduct thorough, detailed, and practical checks of all regulations and standards related to IUU (Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated) fishing; and immediately repair and upgrade some infrastructure-related items. Regarding the operation of management software, personnel, and coordination between forces, these need to be implemented smoothly and effectively, ensuring compliance with regulations. Fishing ports need to develop specific scenarios and solutions to ensure serious and effective implementation of IUU measures; and urgently address some remaining issues.

According to a report from the Department of Agriculture and Environment, 17 out of 19 tasks related to IUU (Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated) fishing have been completed to date. These tasks include: developing projects for vocational retraining for fishermen, ensuring food and supplies for fishermen during the transition period; issuing policies for vocational retraining and decommissioning of fishing vessels no longer needed for fishing operations, tailored to local conditions; and policies to support fishermen in upgrading and replacing VMS (Vehicle Monitoring System) equipment, all of which are being urgently completed.

To date, 100% of fishing vessels in the province have registered and been updated on the VnFishbase software; 100% of fishing vessels have been granted fishing licenses. From December 1st to 7th, there were no fishing vessels violating foreign waters that were seized, processed, or prosecuted for IUU fishing; and no fishing vessels lost VMS connectivity or exceeded permitted fishing boundaries at sea. Currently, there are still some fishing vessels in the province whose technical safety certificates have expired in the national fisheries database. Units and localities are closely monitoring these vessels.
