On the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), the Southern Women's Museum respectfully introduces a meaningful short film: "Uncle Ho with Southern Women".
The film is an emotional journey through time, connecting the generations of yesterday and today. Through the grandmother's heartfelt narration and the granddaughter's journey of discovery and understanding, the film highlights Uncle Ho's special affection for women, especially women in the South.
Originating from the pride of witnessing the heroic parade on April 30th right in Ho Chi Minh City, the female student in the film begins her journey to find her roots, to discover and deeply understand what beloved Uncle Ho has entrusted to Vietnamese women. Through documentary images, historical artifacts and especially his immortal teachings - a valuable guideline for the role of women in modern society:
👉 Heroic - Indomitable - Loyal - Responsible
From each heroic page of history, each story of overcoming difficulties, each simple ao dai or scarf… she realized a profound truth: those values that seemed to belong only to the past are actually the solid foundation, the practical compass for modern women. That is the spirit of living with ideals, full of love, and clearly aware of one’s responsibility to oneself, one’s family and the development of society.
The film “Uncle Ho with Southern Women” is not only the deepest gratitude that the Southern Women’s Museum wants to send to President Ho Chi Minh – who always had a special affection and great trust for Vietnamese women. This is also an invitation and a message for today’s generations to look back, cherish and continue to nurture and promote the noble spirit and values that Uncle Ho believed in and entrusted.
📍 Come to the Southern Women's Museum, not only to look back at history - but also to see yourself on the journey to continue noble values.
