Hanoi FC had a very bad start to the 2023-24 V-League with two losses. Including the 2023-24 AFC Champions League, the capital team lost 5 matches at the beginning of this year's season.
However, Van Quyet and his teammates marked their return with a very meaningful victory against Wuhan Three Towns (China) in the 4th match of the continental tournament.
The victory created a huge boost for coach Dinh The Nam's team before the away match at Binh Duong 's field, in the make-up match of round 1 of Night Wolf V-League 2023-24.

Despite playing away, Hanoi FC took the initiative to attack right after the opening whistle. In the 3rd minute, Wilson's shot went wide of Binh Duong's goal post.
In the following minutes, goalkeeper Minh Toan played very well, continuously frustrating the strikers of Hanoi FC. In the 29th minute, after a quick counterattack, Van Quyet crossed for Tuan Hai to run in front and head the ball close to the goal, but goalkeeper Minh Toan was still the winner.

The turning point of the match happened in the 42nd minute. Tien Long fouled Elogo and received a second yellow card along with a red card. Hanoi FC was left playing with only 10 men.
With the advantage of more players, in the first minutes of the second half, Binh Duong players proactively pushed up their formation to find a goal.
However, in a very difficult situation, Hanoi FC opened the score. In the 63rd minute, from Hanoi's counter-attack, Tuan Hai discovered goalkeeper Minh Toan moving up high, he decided to shoot from the middle of the field and put the ball into the empty net.
Conceding a goal, coach Le Huynh Duc immediately sent forwards Tien Linh and Vi Hao onto the field. The home team then tried to organize pressure to find an equalizer. In the 73rd minute, Tien Linh had a shot in the Hanoi penalty area that went wide of Tan Truong's goal.
In the 90th minute, Xuan Manh ran up the left wing, he crossed the ball inside for Van Tung to finish, sending the ball straight into the position that goalkeeper Minh Toan had chosen. Tuan Hai immediately kicked the ball back but it went over the crossbar of Binh Duong's goal.
