Hanoi FC's 3-1 victory over Quang Nam FC had a "blemish" when striker Pham Tuan Hai was injured in the second half's extra time. The player born in 1998 was tackled roughly by defender Tang Tien of Quang Nam FC, leading to him being carried off the field on a stretcher and taken to the hospital urgently.
At Saint Paul Hospital near Hang Day Stadium, Tuan Hai received an initial diagnosis. According to the Hanoi player, the X-ray results showed that his bones were not damaged. However, Tuan Hai's ankle still ached. This was the aftereffect of the strong collision from Tang Tien.
On the morning of March 9, Tuan Hai will be examined again to assess the soft tissue damage, before diagnosing the time needed for recovery.

Tuan Hai's injury right before joining the Vietnam national team has caused concern for coach Philippe Troussier. The 26-year-old striker is an important factor in the French coach's tactical scheme.
