Tuan Hai and his teammates from the capital team joined the Vietnam team today (November 9), preparing for two matches against the Philippines and Iraq in the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup in Asia.
Sharing his feelings after scoring 2 goals in the continental tournament, Tuan Hai said: "When I scored 2 goals, I received a lot of congratulations, thank you everyone.

For me, a new day means a new job. I believe that the next day will be better than the previous day. In fact, my performance has not been good recently because I have been competing in many competitions and my physical strength has declined.
I don't have much pressure. Whether I'm training or playing, I always try my best for the team. Whether I score or not depends on many factors, the important thing is that I contribute to the whole team."
Returning to the national team, Tuan Hai said the friendly matches in October against China, Uzbekistan and South Korea brought him a lot of experience: "The recent friendly matches were very useful because we got to play against the top teams in Asia, learning their movements and tactics.

When we meet teams like that, we will have more confidence to face strong opponents. After the friendly match, I think the whole team will be able to develop what the coaching staff has proposed. Regarding the current playing style, after 8 months, we have absorbed the philosophy.
The coaching staff said that no one has a guaranteed position, the players and I have to work hard every day to show our best. Currently, my ball handling and coordination skills are not very good. I need to improve more."
Evaluating the away match against the Philippines, Tuan Hai said: "I know the Philippines has many naturalized players. They have many European players so they are very physically strong. Against such an opponent, the whole team needs to play simpler and faster football. If we compete physically, it will be difficult to compete with them."
Back at practice tonight, coach Philippe Troussier let the Vietnamese players get used to the artificial turf field at the VFF Youth Football Training Center.

In the match on November 16, the Vietnamese team will face the Philippines on the artificial turf field of Rizal Memorial. This forces Tuan Hai and his teammates to have the best preparation.
"Artificial turf is very different from natural grass. When passing the ball long, the bounce of the ball is different from natural grass. When you need to accelerate, it is more difficult to maneuver, so you are more likely to get injured. The last match I played on artificial turf was the AFF Cup in Singapore," Tuan Hai said.
In tonight's training session, defender Que Ngoc Hai still had to practice separately with the doctor. The Binh Duong FC player is racing against time to recover in time for the match against the Philippines.
