On February 9, information from the Traffic Police Department of Ha Tinh Province Police said that this unit has just issued a decision to administratively sanction the driver of the blue-plate car of the Vietnam Women's Union of Ha Tinh Province, Mr. PHS (52 years old, residing in Bac Ha Ward, Ha Tinh City).
Mr. S. was fined 2.5 million VND for installing and using a signal device for a vehicle without priority. In addition to the fine, Mr. S. also had his driver's license revoked for 2 months.
The authorities have also sent a notice of violation to Mr. S's workplace.

Previously, at around 1:30 p.m. on February 2 (December 23), through the security camera system installed on National Highway 1A (section in Thach Long Commune, Thach Ha District, Ha Tinh), the Traffic Police Department of Ha Tinh Province discovered Mr. S. driving a car with license plate 38A - 066.88 (blue license plate) with a signal device installed and used for priority vehicles, circulating on the road.

The authorities determined that at that time, Mr. S. used a blue-plate car issued to the Vietnam Women's Union of Ha Tinh province to take Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Ha, President of the Union, to Nghe An province to wish a happy new year to veteran female cadres. In the evening of the same day, driver S. went to Vinh airport (Vinh city, Nghe An) to pick up Ha's daughter and return to Ha Tinh.
When Ms. Ha’s daughter got into the car, driver S. moved, turned on the lights and used the siren of the priority vehicle. The incident was filmed by many people and posted on social media, causing a stir in public opinion. Through working with the police, Mr. S. admitted his violation.
Regarding this incident, previously, after discovering the incident of a blue-plate car picking up the child of the leader of the Vietnam Women's Union of Ha Tinh province, Mr. V.D.T (residing in Dien Chau district, Nghe An, a reporter for the Environmental Industry Magazine) called Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Ha to verify the information and was scheduled to come to the agency to discuss.

Regarding the case of blue-plate cars arbitrarily installing priority lights, a leader of Ha Tinh province said that, through the press's reflection, the provincial leaders have grasped the matter and assigned the Vietnam Women's Union of Ha Tinh province to report to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee.
The Provincial Party Standing Committee will seriously review those involved in the incident.
