Also at this conference, the Vietnam Association of the Elderly introduced the book "Resolutely and persistently fighting against corruption and negativity, contributing to building our Party and State increasingly clean and strong" by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

At the conference, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Committee Truong Thi Mai informed and gave general directions on issues related to the elderly in Vietnam; assessed the role of the elderly in society, and the attention of the Party and State for the elderly. In particular, Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai emphasized that the issue of population aging in Vietnam is happening very quickly. The whole country currently has over 11.4 million elderly people, accounting for about 12% of the population. The rapid increase in population aging poses many challenges in ensuring the quality of life of the elderly according to the motto "live happily, live healthily, live usefully". In addition, the development of the digital age and modern social life also create many difficulties for the elderly in adapting and integrating.
Thoroughly grasping the topic "Issues on the elderly in Vietnam", Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai clearly stated the Party and State's policies and guidelines for the elderly in recent times, such as labor, employment, health care, promoting the role of the elderly, social welfare regimes, traffic works, etc.
According to Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai, the broader the social security system, the more opportunities there are for the elderly, especially policies to support and encourage the elderly. At the same time, she suggested that the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Vietnam Association of the Elderly continue to research, propose and advise during the revision process, whether to consider a mass policy or to focus only on the elderly in the most difficult circumstances.
The Association of the Elderly at all levels must proactively coordinate with Party committees and sectors to continue to implement and soon have policies and strategies to protect and promote the role of the elderly, take care of the elderly better and better in terms of health, material and spiritual life; create motivation for the elderly nationwide to continue to contribute, promote intelligence, experience, and set good examples in the emulation movement "Old age, good example". In particular, Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai emphasized: Healthy longevity is the important life goal of the elderly in the coming time.

The conference also heard Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia thoroughly grasp the key contents of the Resolution of the 6th Central Conference of the 13th tenure. Accordingly, the delegates were informed in the most general way about Resolution No. 27-NQ/TW dated November 9, 2022 of the 13th Party Central Committee on "Continuing to build and perfect the socialist rule-of-law State of Vietnam in the new period"; Resolution No. 28-NQ/TW dated November 17, 2022 of the 13th Party Central Committee on "Continuing to innovate the Party's leadership and governance methods over the political system in the new period"; Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW dated November 17, 2022 on "Continuing to promote the country's industrialization and modernization to 2030, with a vision to 2045"; Conclusion No. 45-KL/TW dated November 17, 2022 of the 13th Party Central Committee on "Orientation of the National Master Plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050".
Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia hopes that the Vietnam Association of the Elderly needs to further promote its role, responsibility and prestige in building the government and the State. Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that to protect the Fatherland, it is not only the Army and the Police, but also the entire population, including the elderly, especially in foreign affairs, increasing partners and reducing subjects.
