The Monument to Heroic Vietnamese Mothers is honored as a typical architectural work of the southern provinces and cities.

The list of 50 typical architectural works was selected and announced by the Vietnam Association of Architects on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and to celebrate Vietnam Architecture Day (April 27).

According to the Vietnam Association of Architects, the announcement and exhibition of 50 outstanding works is not only to display outstanding works but also to highlight the outstanding creations from the passion and intelligence of many generations of architects dedicated to the development of the country.

In this list, Quang Nam has one project, the Monument to the Heroic Vietnamese Mother, designed by architect Nguyen Luan and artist Dinh Gia Thang. The project is modeled after the heroic Vietnamese mother Nguyen Thi Thu (Dien Ban) - who had 9 sons, 1 son-in-law and 2 grandchildren who sacrificed their lives for the cause of resistance to save the country and gain independence and freedom for the nation.

The monument complex is located on the top of Cam Mountain (Phu Thanh village, Tam Phu commune, Tam Ky city) with a total area of 150 thousand square meters. The statue of the Vietnamese Heroic Mother in the entire monument is 18.5m high, 84.7m wide, and 117m wide along the curve.

The Monument to Heroic Vietnamese Mothers in Tam Ky City was completed and opened to visitors in 2015. has become a "red address" attracting many people from all walks of life in the country and international friends to visit and pay tribute to the great sacrifices of Vietnamese heroic mothers for independence and freedom.

In the list of 50 typical architectural works of 34 provinces and cities in the South (from Quang Tri province and below), Ho Chi Minh City has 8 works, Da Nang City and Hue City each have 3 works. The remaining provinces and cities have 1-2 works on the list.
