Tuyen Quang prepares best for the Buckwheat Flower Festival in 2025

To prepare well for the 2025 Buckwheat Flower Festival, taking place at 8:00 p.m. on November 29, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tuyen Quang has proactively advised the Provincial People's Committee to provide overall direction; issued many documents to guide, coordinate and check the progress of the items.

On November 20, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Tuyen Quang province held a press conference in November, orienting propaganda for December 2025. At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tuyen Quang province, informed about the preparations for the Buckwheat Flower Festival in 2025.

Mr. Hoa said that the 2025 Buckwheat Flower Festival will take place at 8:00 p.m. on November 29 at Thanh Nien Square, the center of Dong Van commune, with the theme of the 2025 Festival being "The blooming rock land".

In addition to the opening program, the festival has many rich activities such as: Table Tennis Tournament "Open Buckwheat Flower Cup"; Experiential tourism activities: folk art performances, rock cultivation, flax weaving, making Buckwheat cakes; and many folk games such as: pao throwing, con tossing, bird singing contest, playing cards; Launching the tourism product "Rock - Spirit of Rock"; Decoration, flower planting for the Festival concentrated at famous tourist destinations such as: Tham Ma Slope, Lo Lo Chai Cultural Village, Pao's House, Vuong's House, Lung Cu... ensuring flowers bloom in time for the Festival.

To do a good job of preparation, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has proactively advised the Provincial People's Committee to provide overall direction; issued many documents guiding, coordinating and checking progress. The Department has worked with sponsors and event organizers to complete the overall script, artistic script, prepare speeches, coordinate communication work and build professional procedures for the opening ceremony.

The Department of Construction issued a document to ensure traffic and urban beautification for the Festival. The Department of Health has developed a plan to ensure food safety and health during the event. The Provincial Police have developed a plan to ensure security, safety, and traffic flow. Communes in the Geopark area have developed a plan to organize experiential activities, prepare facilities, destinations, environmental sanitation, and local security.

Before the Festival, the number of tourists tends to increase sharply. In the 2nd and 3rd weeks of November 2025, the Geopark area welcomes 7,500-9,000 visitors per day, with room occupancy reaching 90-95%. It is expected that before, during and after the Festival, the area will welcome over 250,000 visitors (nearly 20,000 visitors on the night of the Festival Opening Ceremony alone), with room occupancy possibly exceeding 100% due to high demand. The whole province currently has 1,500 accommodation establishments (14,415 rooms), with the Geopark area alone having 776 establishments with nearly 8,000 rooms and 17,000 beds.

The number of visitors tends to increase sharply before the Buckwheat Flower Festival.

Mr. Hoa added that currently, departments, branches and localities are performing many tasks to ensure the festival. The Department of Agriculture and Environment guides planting techniques, ensures flower quality, and integrates livelihood development for people. The Department of Industry and Trade controls commercial activities, displays OCOP products, prevents price increases and price pressure. The Department of Construction: ensures traffic and parking spots to serve tourists.

The Department of Health checks food safety, coordinates the arrangement of medical forces and ambulances at key locations. The People's Committee of Dong Van commune and communes in the Geopark area renovates the urban area, ensures environmental sanitation, installs billboards, flags, and banners, promotes visual propaganda, prepares accommodation for invited provincial delegates, coordinates to ensure security and coordinates tourists.

The Tourism Association mobilized social resources, organized the launching of the product “Rock – Spirit of Rock”, coordinated the organization of experiential events, and called on accommodation establishments to ensure that prices would not be increased during the Festival.
