Diverse training majors, flexible admission methods
In 2025, Thai Nguyen University will enroll 18,470 students with 121 majors, 165 undergraduate training programs and 21 college-level majors with 1,120 students.
Through 6 admission methods including: direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training ; considering high school graduation exam scores; considering academic records; considering entrance assessment test results (V-SAT-TNU); considering competency assessment test results from major universities; and combining exam scores/academic records with aptitude tests.
Along with flexible admission methods, Thai Nguyen University is focusing on developing new training majors that are suitable for social trends. In 2025, Thai Nguyen University will continue to enroll new majors opened from 2024 such as Financial Technology, International Studies, Robotics Engineering, Semiconductor Technology, Culture of Vietnamese Ethnic Minorities, Mong Language Pedagogy and Chinese Language. The interdisciplinary training model helps students expand their knowledge and increase their competitiveness in the labor market.

Dr. Dang Danh Hoang - Director of the Admissions and Communications Center of the University of Industrial Technology (Thai Nguyen University) said: "In 2025, the school will enroll 3,250 students for 21 training majors.
The school applies 4 admission methods including: direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, considering high school graduation exam scores in 2025, considering high school transcripts and university entrance assessment test results (VSAT) on computer.
In addition, the school also opened the Electrical and Electronic Engineering major and promoted STEM festivals, STEM & English Festival programs for students to access STEM education and English to promote the strengths of the university with engineering majors in the above fields."

On July 21, 2025, Thai Nguyen University issued Notice No. 3760/TB-Thai Nguyen University on the threshold to ensure input quality for regular university and college admissions in 2025 and convert computer-based entrance assessment test scores (V-SAT) according to high school graduation exam scores.
Accordingly, the threshold for ensuring input quality applied to the admission method using high school graduation exam results and the method using V-SAT results (converted, including regional and subject priority points, if any) is stipulated as follows: a minimum of 15.00 points applies to most majors and training programs; specifically, the Semiconductor Microchip, Electronic Technology, Semiconductor and Microchip, Semiconductor Technology programs require a minimum of 24.00 points, and the Math score must be 8.00 or higher.
For Law and Economic Law, the minimum score is 18.00, with the condition that the score in Math and Literature, or one of these two subjects, must be from 6.00.
