According to the telegram, recently, the Northern region has experienced heavy rains over a large area in many localities, causing serious flooding and landslides. Some localities have suffered losses in terms of human lives and property.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, heavy and prolonged rain will continue in the northern mountainous region in the coming time (over 500mm in some places).

To proactively respond to floods and minimize damage to people and property in the education sector, the Ministry of Education and Training requires directors of education and training departments of provinces and centrally run cities to closely monitor disaster forecasts and warnings from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting; proactively coordinate with authorities at all levels to deploy response measures in case of incidents.

Departmentsof education and training need to establish information channels with parents to manage students, minimizing risks of natural disasters happening to students.

At the same time, education and training departments need to develop plans to move files, documents, machinery, equipment, tables and chairs to safe places to avoid damage; absolutely do not organize summer activities, especially in places at risk of landslides, flash floods or inundation.

The Ministry of Education and Training requires localities to overcome damage caused by floods; clean up schools/classrooms immediately after the floods end; summarize the damage, develop a recovery plan, promptly report to the provincial People's Committee for recovery, and at the same time report to the Ministry for synthesis and reporting to the Government .
