Meanwhile, in the US market, the US Dollar Index (DXY) measuring the greenback's fluctuations against six major currencies (EUR, JPY, GBP, CAD, SEK, CHF) increased slightly by 0.13% to 104.13.

The US dollar rose again in the last trading session, as investors focused on assessing the possibility that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will continue to raise interest rates.

“We are waiting to see if the inflation data surprises the market,” said Edward Moya, senior market analyst at OANDA in New York.

The Fed is widely seen as likely to pause its rate hikes in June amid concerns about the impact on the economy . Traders of Fed funds futures see the Fed continuing to raise rates, with a 65% chance of at least a 25 basis point hike in July, according to CME Group's FedWatch Tool.

The US currency was supported by last week's jobs data, which showed employers added 339,000 jobs in May, although the unemployment rate rose to a seven-month high of 3.7%, suggesting the labour market was tightening.

Meanwhile, data from the New York Fed on June 6 showed that supply chain pressures cooled down again in May.

In contrast, the euro fell 0.15 percent against the greenback to $1.0694, and the greenback rose 0.06 percent against the Japanese yen to 139.64 yen.

Meanwhile, the Australian dollar hit its highest level since mid-May after the Reserve Bank of Australia unexpectedly raised interest rates by 25 basis points, while also highlighting that further tightening may be needed to rein in inflation.
