Explosive match of Vietnam U.21 women's volleyball team
Facing the stronger opponent U.21 Serbia, whose team is ranked 9th in the world , coach Nguyen Trong Linh kept the same lineup that U.21 Vietnam used to beat U.21 host Indonesia in the opening match, with key players Dang Thi Hong, Nguyen Phuong Quynh, Pham Quynh Huong, Le Nhu Anh, Ngo Thi Bich Hue, and Lai Thi Khanh Huyen.

The U.21 Serbia team has good-looking players with powerful high-altitude attacks, but the U.21 Vietnam girls also entered the game with confidence, chasing the score fiercely. The tallest player of the U.21 Vietnam team, Nguyen Phuong Quynh, made her mark with the first points. Dang Thi Hong, with her ability to jump high and hit the ball into the floor, not only scored points but also helped her teammates gain confidence. In addition, the U.21 Vietnam players also organized defense, sharp blocking, and neutralized many attacks of the U.21 Serbia team, winning an impressive 25/21 in game 1.

The Serbian U.21 hitters rose strongly and determinedly in the second game, but Dang Thi Hong and her teammates still created an attractive "tit for tat" match. Their tireless efforts helped the Vietnamese U.21 team narrow the score gap to 23/24, but they lost 23/25 to their opponents, bringing the match to a 1-1 tie. This was the game in which Serbian U.21 had more effective attack and defense than Vietnam U.21.
Dang Thi Hong and her teammates played explosively again in game 3. Despite the U.21 Serbia team having an impressive series of attacks after being down 13/18, equalizing 19/19, the U.21 Vietnam team still took advantage of the opportunities they had, rising to win with a score of 25/22 and leading their opponents with a score of 2-1.
The fourth game witnessed an explosive performance by U.21 Vietnam. Although the U.21 Serbia team created a 4-point gap (10/6), Dang Thi Hong and her teammates scored 5 points in a row, leading 11/10. Spectacular saves helped the U.21 Vietnam players' spirit rise, thereby widening the gap to 8 points (22/14) before winning 25/23, closing the final victory with a score of 3-1.
Winning all 3 points surprisingly against U.21 Serbia helped the U.21 Vietnam team share the top spot in the rankings with U.21 Argentina, thereby opening the door to the knockout round. At 13:00 tomorrow (August 9), the U.21 Vietnam team will face the U.21 Canada team in the third match of Group A of the U.21 Volleyball World Cup.
