Two key players of U23 Malaysia, Aliff Izwan Yuslan and Faris Danish Mohd Asrul, have fully recovered from their injuries and are ready to play in the match against U23 Indonesia in the final match of Group A of the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship.
The return of these two stars is considered a quality addition to the U23 Malaysia squad, especially when the upcoming match is crucial to the ticket to the semi-finals.
Both Aliff Izwan Yuslan and Faris Danish Mohd Asrul were absent from the second match against Brunei due to injury.
Malaysia U23 coach Nafuzi Zain confirmed that both players have returned to training and are ready to compete.
Aliff Izwan, an experienced 21-year-old midfielder who has played for the national team, is expected to strengthen the attack of Malaysia U23.
Meanwhile, left-back Faris Danish Mohd Asrul has also shown signs of recovery and is likely to play. He is an important stopper in the squad of Mr. Nafuzi Zain's team.
The "big match" between U23 Indonesia and U23 Malaysia will take place at 8pm tonight (July 21).
The result of this match will directly affect the ability of both teams to continue in the tournament. U23 Indonesia only needs a draw to secure a ticket to the semi-finals, however a defeat could put them at a great disadvantage.
Meanwhile, U23 Malaysia must win and wait for the Philippines to not beat Brunei to get a ticket to continue.
