U23 Vietnam departs for training in UAE

This is the next step in a long-term plan developed by the Vietnam Football Federation, aiming to improve professional capacity and increase international exposure for young players.

Compared to the initial list, the team had two forced changes due to injuries. Midfielder Dinh Xuan Tien suffered from thigh muscle overload, while striker Nguyen Ngoc My suffered an adductor injury.

Both could not accompany the team and were forced to stay in the country for treatment. The coaching staff quickly summoned Le Dinh Long Vu (Song Lam Nghe An ) and Nguyen Le Phat (Ninh Binh) to replace them, ensuring the quality of personnel during the training session.

Sharing before the trip, acting head coach Dinh Hong Vinh said that the whole team is closely following the professional plan agreed upon with head coach Kim Sang Sik.

The focus of the training camp is to improve ball control, form a tight team and exploit the space behind the opponent's defense. He stressed that this is an important stage in the process of perfecting the playing style and selecting personnel for long-term goals.

In the UAE, U23 Vietnam will have two very notable international friendly matches with U23 Qatar, on October 9 and October 13 respectively. Coach Dinh Hong Vinh assessed this as a valuable opportunity to help the team test tactics, evaluate actual performance and identify potential individuals.

Professional reports from this training session will be sent to head coach Kim Sang Sik, serving as a basis for team building in the next stages.

Midfielder Nguyen Van Truong - one of the important pillars of U23 Vietnam, expressed his determination for the upcoming journey: "In the past time, the Vietnam Football Federation has created conditions for us to participate in many quality tournaments and useful training trips. The whole team is in good spirit and preparation for the 33rd SEA Games and the 2026 AFC U23 Finals. We will try our best to be worthy of the trust of the fans."

The training trip in the UAE is not only of professional significance, but also part of the football development cooperation program between the Vietnam Football Federation and the Qatar Football Federation, established from 2023.

Through practical cooperation activities like this, Vietnamese youth football has more conditions to reach new heights, accumulate international experience and aim for new achievements in the region and continent.
