To prepare for this match, on the evening of March 27 (Vietnam time), U23 Vietnam had a final training session to complete the preparation. In this session, coach Philippe Troussier tried to instruct his players to overcome the mistakes revealed in the last two matches at the U23 Cup international friendly tournament, and at the same time encouraged the whole team to try to show their best ability in the final match against U23 Kyrgyzstan.
Coach Philippe Troussier also reminded his players to be steadfast in the goal that the team is aiming for. “In the first match, we played well for the first 20 minutes before being short-handed due to a red card. In the second match, we played very well for 45 minutes of the first half. In the upcoming third match, we will have to try to play well for at least 60-70 minutes. We will improve step by step like that. Don't worry too much about the result because I am the one who has to take responsibility,” emphasized coach Philippe Troussier.
The match with U23 Kyrgyzstan is an opportunity for the players to show themselves.
In the match against U23 Kyrgyzstan, U23 Vietnam received good news about the force when defender Vu Tien Long and midfielder Vo Hoang Minh Khoa will return after being absent for 1 match due to a red card. Goalkeeper Doan Huy Hoang also returned to training with a headband to protect the tear on his forehead. This is the injury Huy Hoang suffered in the match against U23 UAE, in a situation where he tried to fly to push the ball away, but unfortunately hit the post.
The U23 Kyrgyzstan team is rated lower than the two previous opponents of U23 Vietnam. They have an unstable defense, young players (mostly from 19 to 20 years old) lack battle experience, and the physical foundation of U23 Kyrgyzstan is not guaranteed. Therefore, this will be an opportunity for U23 Vietnam to have an honorable victory in the tournament, thereby creating motivation for the players in the upcoming preparation period for the 32nd SEA Games.
