The Ukrainian Defense Ministry 's intelligence agency posted on Telegram on November 12 that at least three officers of the Russian Guard were killed in "retaliation by the local resistance movement." The attack was carried out while officials from the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) and the Russian National Guard Rosgvardia were meeting.

Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov, who is living in exile in Ukraine, said on November 11 that local residents reported "an explosion that could be heard in every corner of the city".
Russia has not commented on the above information.
Melitopol is located in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, southern Ukraine. It is one of four regions annexed by Russia in October 2022. The other regions are Donetsk, Lugansk and Kherson Oblasts. Russia currently controls about 97% of Lugansk Oblast, 70% of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Oblasts, and more than 50% of Donetsk Oblast.
Moscow claimed last week to have stopped a Ukrainian counter-offensive in Zaporizhzhia, but Kiev denied it, insisting it was still causing damage to Russia.
