Within the framework of the TalentX 2023 Human Resources - Technology Conference, themed "Elevating Talent with the Power of Technology and Management," organized by the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) on November 15th, experts unanimously agreed that human resources issues in the digital age are receiving more attention from businesses than ever before.
Employee-centric philosophies and strategies are being increasingly developed and implemented with the help of technological solutions.
For example, in the area of recruitment, according to research by LinkedIn, 66% of HR managers and recruiters have positively evaluated the effectiveness of HRTech applying AI.
During the conference, experts also shared that modern human resource management solutions are no longer limited to measuring KPIs, employee efficiency and productivity, and optimizing performance. They have also helped build programs to enhance employee work experience and design training and development programs, creating personalized career paths for each employee.
Furthermore, based on aggregated data from work, social relationships in both real and virtual environments, some businesses are applying AI technology to help identify employees who are dissatisfied (or have negative emotions), employees who are having problems at work, and employees who are underperforming.
This allows the HR department to take early action to address issues and implement more effective programs/policies to retain employees.
The issue of training and retraining the workforce within a business in the context of the demands and requirements of work in the digital age has also been raised.
Citing research from the World Economic Forum on the ratio of machines to humans in the workforce in 2022 at 34% - 66%, and forecasting this ratio to be 43% - 57% by 2027, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, Director of Customer Relations, Udemy Business in Vietnam, commented that artificial intelligence, especially generative AI , is accelerating the shift in the ratio of labor between humans and machines.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, the World Economic Forum also predicts that approximately 44% of workers' core skills will change in the next five years.
In this context, the human resource development strategy of many businesses remains focused on investing in training and learning to retrain for jobs, as well as continuing to accelerate digital transformation.
This trend is partly reflected in data from 64 million individual learners globally, over 220,000 courses, and more than 15,000 businesses using the Udemy learning platform.
According to statistics, in terms of technology, besides commonly learned skills such as programming languages like Python and Java, and certifications from Microsoft and AWS, the Udemy platform also sees rapid growth in courses on new skills.
Notably, data from the global learning platform Udemy shows that, recently, in both business and technology fields, the three most popular courses are ChatGPT, Java, and sales skills.
“In Vietnam, the most popular courses are still web development, programming, and IT certifications, which account for the majority of the learning. The average time a Vietnamese person spends studying on Udemy is about 7-8 hours per month, higher than the global average of 4.9 hours per month,” added Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien.
Recognizing that AI and AI generation will create a profound shift in workforce structure and human resource management, Mr. Phan Ho Ha Phuong, Head of AI Solutions at FPT Smart Cloud, analyzed: This creates both opportunities and challenges for employees.
