Accordingly, the tropical depression is currently in the sea east of the Philippines, will enter the East Sea on November 25, is likely to strengthen into a storm and head towards the mainland of the Central provinces in the next few days. To proactively respond in the context of Khanh Hoa province continuing to overcome the consequences of serious rain and floods in the recent time, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested localities and units to urgently focus on overcoming the consequences, restoring production, business, stabilizing people's lives after the recent historic rain and floods; be ready to prepare to respond to the next natural disaster.
Localities and units closely monitor the developments of natural disasters; strictly manage vessels at sea; organize counting and notify owners of vessels and captains of ships and boats operating at sea of the location, direction of movement and developments of natural disasters to proactively avoid, escape or not move into dangerous areas; prepare forces and means to deploy rescue work and support people when requested.
The Office of the Provincial Civil Defense Command coordinates with the Department of Agriculture and Environment to develop scenarios and response plans for each stage, in accordance with the developments and movement direction of the tropical depression that is likely to strengthen into a storm.
Khanh Hoa Provincial Hydrometeorological Station continues to monitor the developments of the tropical depression and promptly inform relevant agencies and local authorities to proactively direct and guide people to implement response measures.
Units managing and exploiting irrigation and hydropower works must urgently reinforce and repair damages at works and dams as soon as possible; regularly monitor weather forecast information and water flow to reservoirs to promptly calculate plans to regulate and lower water levels to increase flood capacity, proactively respond to floods caused by storms and tropical depressions.
Khanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio, Television, Nha Trang Coastal Information Station, Ninh Thuan Coastal Information Station, press and media agencies in localities strengthen measures to inform about the developments of natural disasters to authorities, owners of vehicles operating at sea and people to proactively prevent and respond. Departments, branches and sectors, according to their functions, state management tasks and assigned tasks, proactively direct and coordinate with localities and units to respond to natural disasters.
According to the news of Khanh Hoa Province Hydrometeorological Station, at 1:00 a.m. on November 25, the tropical depression was located in the central Philippines with strong winds of level 7 (50-61 km/h), gusts of level 9. It is forecasted that by 1:00 a.m. on November 26, the tropical depression will be located in the southeast sea area of the central East Sea and is likely to strengthen into a storm with winds of level 8, gusts of level 10. The storm will continue to strengthen and move towards the mainland of the central provinces.
Due to the influence of the tropical depression strengthening into a storm, from the evening of November 25, the sea area in the East Sea and the Northeast Sea of the South Sea will have winds gradually increasing to level 6-7; the area near the storm center will have strong winds of level 8, gusts of level 10, waves 3-5m high, rough seas. From the afternoon of November 26 to 28, the area between the East Sea and the North Sea of the South Sea (including the sea area north of Truong Sa special zone) will be affected by strong winds of level 10-11, gusts of level 14. Ships operating in the above-mentioned dangerous areas are likely to be affected by storms, whirlwinds, strong winds, and big waves.
