On the afternoon of August 21, comrade Ngo Chi Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee chaired the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to listen to the Provincial Party Committee's report on the preparation of proposals to the Central Government on works and projects under the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026 - 2030 of Vinh Long province and the plan and progress of the implementation of the coastal corridor. According to the Provincial Party Committee, the province plans to prioritize the allocation of central support capital for the 2026-2030 period for transitional projects according to the implementation progress; the allocation plan focuses and prioritizes implementation according to the goals of the planning period up to 2030; the main goals and tasks of the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term and the province's breakthroughs, especially in socio -economic infrastructure.
To achieve the set economic growth target, as a foundation for growth in the next period, the Provincial People's Committee proposed that the Ministry of Finance synthesize and propose to the Prime Minister to consider supplementing central capital to support the province in implementing sectors and fields in the period of 2026 - 2030 with a capital of nearly 66,152 billion VND.
For the coastal road of Vinh Long province, starting from the coastal road of Tien Giang province (now Dong Thap province), crossing Cua Dai river, connecting with coastal communes, crossing Ba Lai river, Ham Luong river, Co Chien river, then the route connects with Dai Ngai bridge on National Highway 60 and 1 branch connects with Dinh An economic zone, Dinh An seaport. The total length of the project is 112.7km, based on the Resolution of the Government, regulations of the Central Government, the People's Committees of Ben Tre and Tra Vinh provinces (formerly) have organized the implementation of 5 projects.
At the conference, delegates highly agreed on the consolidation of the works and projects of the three previous provinces into the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026 - 2030. At the same time, delegates also suggested that it is necessary to pay attention to prioritizing and adding some priority and important works and projects, opening up space and creating momentum for the development of Vinh Long province in the period 2026 - 2030, such as: National Highway 53, Long Ho - Ba Si section; National Highway 54 from the old Binh Tan district to the old Cau Ke district; the old Tra Vinh city bypass; the route from Dai Ngai bridge to Co Chien bridge; National Highway 57 bypass; Lang The freshwater lake project phase 2 and some landslide prevention and control projects...
In his concluding remarks, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Ngo Chi Cuong emphasized that the capital demand for works and projects is very large, in which, it is necessary to focus on traffic connection projects within the province, inter-provincial and regional connection; projects to promote socio-economic development of the province.
Pay attention to the priority order of important works and projects of the province in the period of 2026 - 2030. Focus on accelerating the progress of key works being implemented; soon complete the preparation work to start the construction of Dinh Khao bridge. Reports need to be completed and sent to the central ministries and branches as soon as possible.
