Collision with motorbike, passenger bus carrying 14 people plunges into canal

According to a source from the Hoa Dinh Tay Commune Police, Phu Hoa District (Phu Yen) tonight (June 19), 14 people were rescued after a passenger bus plunged into a canal after an accident with a motorbike.

The accident occurred at 5:00 p.m. the same day at km 21+00 on National Highway 25 through Phu Sen Dong village, Hoa Dinh Tay commune, Phu Hoa district.

At that time, Mr. Huynh Quoc Bao (born in 1990, residing in Trung Hoa quarter, Cung Son town, Son Hoa district, Phu Yen province) was driving a 16-seat passenger car with license plate 79B-034.09, carrying 13 passengers from the East to the above-mentioned route, when he collided with a motorbike with license plate 78K1-022.26 driven by Mr. Vo Minh Hoan (born in 1980) carrying Ms. Nguyen Thi Tieu Ly (born in 1998, both residing in Phu Hoa town, Phu Hoa district).

The collision not only injured the two motorcyclists, but also caused the bus to veer off course and plunge into the North Main Canal of the Dong Cam irrigation system. Fortunately, the accident occurred on a residential area, so many local residents were able to rush into the canal to rescue the bus driver Huynh Quoc Bao and 13 passengers.

Along with the investigation of the accident scene, the Traffic Police Department of Phu Yen Province Police and the Hoa Dinh Tay Commune Police, Phu Hoa District and the vehicle owner mobilized specialized vehicles to pull the passenger bus out of the canal.
