(BGĐT) - According to information from some orchards in Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang), early-ripening lychees (U Hong variety) in the area are beginning to ripen, with the peel gradually turning light pink, and the flesh becoming thick and sweet.

This is an early-ripening lychee variety, with bright pink shoulders and a yellow or bright green tip.

Mr. Pham Van Dung, Director of Hong Xuan Agricultural Production and General Service Cooperative in Hong Giang commune, said: "The cooperative has just harvested 70 kg of lychees to give as gifts. It is expected that in two weeks, some of the members' orchards will be harvested to supply the market. At this time, lychees need sufficient water and nutrients, so growers need to focus on caring for them by regularly watering and pruning the tops and shoots."

Reportedly, this year the members of the Hong Xuan Agricultural Production and General Service Cooperative are cultivating 20 hectares of lychee, including about 7 hectares of pink lychee.
