Mobilized over 17.3 billion VND to support and care for victims of Agent Orange/dioxin

During the 2022-2027 term, the Binh Thuy District Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin completed 4/9 targets of the term; the remaining 5 targets were completed at 74% or more. Notably, the organization effectively implemented 2 models "Mobilizing society to join hands to provide lifelong care for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in difficult circumstances in the community", "Community health team providing health care for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in difficult circumstances in households"; mobilized nearly 5.5 billion VND to care for and help victims...

In the emulation movement "For Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin" in the period of 2021-2025, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin at all levels in Binh Thuy district proactively coordinated with local agencies, organizations and individuals to mobilize over 17.3 billion VND, taking care of 21,475 victims; of which, 68 victims were regularly cared for every month; 8,944 gifts were presented to victims on holidays and Tet; 747 victims received health care from the activities of the community health team. The Association at all levels coordinated with socio-political organizations to help 47 families of victims borrow capital to develop the economy, 4 victims were able to borrow capital to build and repair houses, with a total loan of 4.2 billion VND... Through the Association's assistance programs, 12 families of victims have escaped poverty.

On this occasion, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Can Tho City honored 10 individuals who are typical victims and caregivers of victims; the Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Thuy District rewarded 10 individuals who are typical Association officials.
