On the afternoon of July 13, Ho Chi Minh City National University organized the first supplementary exam to assess capacity in the history of this exam.

According to information from the Center for Testing and Training Quality Assessment, Ho Chi Minh City National University, there are 25 candidates taking the re-exam in this supplementary exam.

Candidates will take a 150-minute test consisting of 120 objective multiple-choice questions with the test format following the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment test structure applied from 2025 to suit the 2018 generaleducation program.

Exam results are determined by modern multiple choice methods according to question response theory. The score of each question has different weights depending on the difficulty of the question.

The test score is converted by section. The maximum score of the test is 1,200 points, in which the maximum score of each component of the test is shown on the score sheet including Vietnamese is 300 points, English is 300 points; mathematics is 300 points and scientific thinking is 300 points.

The exam scores will be announced in the next few days.

This is the first time this exam has organized a supplementary exam for candidates who are allowed to retake the exam due to an incident that occurred in the second round of this year's exam in exam rooms 39 and 42, at exam site 17, exam cluster 9 (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology).

Specifically, in the second round of the exam that took place on June 1, in two exam rooms, there was an incident where the invigilator mistakenly heard the bell, causing candidates to lose 30 minutes of their test, and an incident where the invigilator did not give out scratch paper, causing difficulties for candidates during the test.

After the reaction of students and public opinion, Ho Chi Minh City National University decided to organize re-exams for affected candidates to ensure their rights and create fair conditions for them.

When taking this supplementary exam, the candidate's second round exam results will be canceled and will no longer be valid for admission. The valid results of the candidate are the first round exam results (if the candidate takes the exam) and the supplementary exam results.

The competency assessment exam was organized in 2018 with the initial goal of serving university admissions of training institutions in the Ho Chi Minh City National University system.

From just over 4,500 candidates taking the exam in the first year of organization (2018), by 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam attracted nearly 153,000 candidates with nearly 223,200 candidates taking the exam.

From the exam used for admission to Ho Chi Minh City National University, up to now, more than 110 educational institutions use scores from this exam for admission consideration.

Up to now, this is considered the largest university entrance exam in the country in terms of the number of registered candidates and the number of educational institutions using the scores for admission.
