On the morning of October 18, the International University (a member of the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) coordinated with the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City to organize the 3rd "Initiatives for Building a Sustainable Society" contest with the participation of 16 teams from secondary and high schools in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces.

In this contest, the teams will research an environmental issue or issues affecting the sustainable development of the community that have been and are taking place in the place where they live and study, and at the same time propose applicable solutions to contribute to improving the above issue with the theme "For a Green and Sustainable Community".
This year, the competition projects will be in the form of groups of 4-6 members, including 3-5 students and 1 teacher as an advisor to support them throughout the competition.
In the final round, the teams presented their projects and answered questions from the organizers.
A representative of the International University said that through this competition, he hopes that students will develop innovative thinking and raise awareness of issues related to the environment and society where they live and study.
Due to the larger number of participating teams than previous years, this year the contest awarded 2 first prizes, 2 second prizes, 2 third prizes, 4 consolation prizes, 6 promising project prizes and 2 favorite project prizes from audience votes for the TOP 8 in the final round.
The "Initiative to Build a Sustainable Society" is organized with the aim of continuing to create a healthy and useful playground to promote communication and connection between students of all levels of educational institutions, creating an environment to help students have more access to sustainable development education, access to useful knowledge related to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. In particular, the competition focuses on environmental issues, thereby providing a perspective on solving problems that students are facing at their places of study in a feasible and more effective way.
