A statement issued this morning (December 13th) by Ms. Ha Thi Hang, Head of External Relations and CEO, acknowledged that the school had made shortcomings in updating its practices to comply with Vietnamese regulations.
The school apologizes for not promptly informing students transferring to undergraduate programs at UK universities about the fact that these programs do not yet meet the official accreditation requirements in Vietnam.
According to Ms. Hang, although the universities recommended by the London-Hanoi College of Design and Fashion are all prestigious and reputable, and their degrees are recognized in many major countries around the world, according to current regulations, they still have to meet the requirements to be officially recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training .

Regarding diploma recognition, the school stated that it is coordinating with relevant authorities to find a solution. This solution will prioritize ensuring the best interests of the students.
"We are committed to reviewing the entire legal process to ensure that academic information is always up-to-date and accurate. The school sincerely apologizes for the incident that has caused concern to students and parents," the school's statement read.
Previously, as reported by Dan Tri newspaper , a number of students from the London College of Design and Fashion - Hanoi were surprised when the Ministry of Education and Training refused to authenticate their university degrees issued by Liverpool John Moores University.
The reason for rejection is that the online undergraduate program in Fashion, Design, and Communication offered by Liverpool John Moores University has not been licensed by the Ministry of Education and Training for joint training in Vietnam. There have been cases where students only discovered their undergraduate degree was not recognized after completing their master's degree.
On the evening of December 12th, the Ministry of Education and Training issued a statement affirming that it would handle the case in accordance with the law.
The Ministry is also considering establishing a comprehensive inspection team to examine the school's operations and will strictly handle any violations (if any) within its authority; while ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of students based on full compliance with current regulations.
