On the fourth day of competition at the 33rd SEA Games (December 13th), the Vietnamese delegation was determined to increase its achievements to consolidate its second-place position in the overall medal standings. The 24 gold medals won after three days have a high chance of being increased, with at least 30 of Vietnam's hopeful athletes competing.

Nguyen Huy Hoang dreams of a golden hat-trick.
Swimming entered its fourth day of competition, with the highlight being the performance of swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang in the 200m freestyle. This is the event in which he won a bronze medal at the 32nd SEA Games in 2023 with a fairly good time.
Despite having to compete against very strong opponents from Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia, Huy Hoang is still hoping to win his third gold medal at this year's Games.

Nguyen Thi Oanh is ready to go into battle.
In athletics, Vietnamese fans are focusing their attention on "golden girl" Nguyen Thi Oanh. The athlete from Bac Giang has wholeheartedly cheered on her teammates in recent days, especially in her specialty 1,500m race, which she handed over to two younger athletes, and which she is now officially competing in.
Oanh will compete in the women's 5,000m final at 6:45 PM. Having won four gold medals at the previous SEA Games, Nguyen Thi Oanh is only participating in three events this time: the 5,000m, 3,000m steeplechase, and 10,000m. Her goal is to win all three gold medals for Vietnamese athletics.
Today, the Vietnamese sports delegation also hopes to compete for gold medals in martial arts (karate, judo, jiujitsu, wushu, taekwondo, kickboxing), weightlifting, shooting, petanque, chess, etc.
